If you don't know what these mean don't call yourself a fan.
Baseball is not like other sports. There's no clock, no one star player who can carry a team, no boring rectangular fields, and the defensive team controls the ball. The difference between an easy fly ball to center and a 400-foot home run is a fraction of an inch. You can play perfectly and still lose because a ball snuck through the defense and found a hole. Even the best players fail over 65% of the time. Every play could be an exciting dash around the bases or a swing and miss. Players go from the best player in baseball one year to a benchwarmer the next. In other sports, it's easy to see how good a player is. Stats are simple. In baseball, no one knows. Baseball statistics is like rocket science. It's complicated, but the results speak for themselves. Baseball is a story that's constantly being written, and whatever happens in the next chapter, go Dodgers!
I've played baseball since 2019, winning a regional championship in the 2022 season.
